What this community is for

MUPAS is a place to record what you experienced, in your own words, beside what your instruments recorded — and to compare notes with other people who have been through something similar. Many members have never told anyone else. Treat what you read here accordingly.

Five rules

  1. Believe first. You may ask questions; you may not tell another member what they really saw, what it "must have been", or that they should see a doctor. If you want to offer an ordinary explanation, ask whether they would like one before you give it.
  2. Their story is theirs. Do not quote, screenshot, or repeat another member's account anywhere outside MUPAS without their permission. That includes social media, podcasts and books.
  3. No names but your own. Do not name other people — neighbours, family, colleagues, other members — in posts or observations. Screen names only. Do not post anyone's address, phone number or workplace, including your own.
  4. No selling, no recruiting. No offers of services, products, readings, healing, investigations or groups, paid or free, and no links to them. MUPAS's own store is the only exception, and MUPAS staff will never sell to you inside a support conversation.
  5. No harassment. No insults, no pressure to reply, no repeated contact with someone who has stopped answering, and no contact with a member who has blocked you.

What happens if a rule is broken

Any member can report a post, comment or observation; MUPAS staff read every report. A post that breaks a rule may be removed and the member told why. Repeated or serious breaches end the account. A report never shows the reported member who reported them. You can also block another member; they will not see it, and you will not see their posts or comments.

Getting help

Peer Support Specialists are members who have had their own experiences and have signed the peer-support guidelines. You can write to them from Peer Support at any time. MUPAS is not a crisis service: if you are in immediate danger, call 911; in the US, call or text 988 — the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — any time.

About your account

Other members see the screen name you choose and nothing else. Your member ID is your sign-in and is never shown to anyone. What you record is yours; who can see each entry is shown where you write it.
